Yingyao Hu, Krieger-Eisenhower Professor of Economics and Department Chair, will become the Vice Dean for Social Sciences at the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences on January 1, 2024. Professor Hu has been a faculty member in the department since 2007, and his scholarly areas of expertise include econometrics, empirical industrial organization, and labor economics. Over the five years that Professor Hu has been chair, the department has expanded in size, major improvements have been achieved in both the graduate and undergraduate programs, and the department has been set on an exciting new trajectory. The Economics Department thanks him for his service and congratulates him on his new role.
