On October 8th and 9th, the Department organized a conference in honor of Edi Karni, the Scott and Barbara Black Professor of Economics. It was attended by a large number of friends, Department colleagues, co-authors, and former students of Professor Karni and provided an opportunity for an appreciation of his wide-ranging and deep contributions to economic research. The conference program also included presentations on the latest developments in economic theory, many of which are on topics related to Professor Karni’s research interests. At the conference dinner, guests were regaled with stories of Professor Karni as a father, teacher, co-author, colleague, and friend.
