On September 14, 2011, Hyun Song Shin of Princeton University delivered his first lecture for the 2011-2012 Ely Lecture Series. In his series titled “Banks, Financial Markets and the Macroeconomy,” this particular lecture focused on the global banking glut and its consequences. An economic theorist whose work often examines the beliefs of market participants and how they react in settings of high uncertainty, Dr. Shin provided a “very high level picture” of the financial and banking conditions that influence global liquidity.
