Gregory Duffee joins the Economics Department as the inaugural Carl Christ Professor, part of the new Center for Financial Economics. Duffee, who comes to Hopkins from an associate professorship at the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley, earned a PhD in economics from Harvard University. He spent a decade as an economist in the research and statistics division of the Federal Reserve Board and his research interests include term structure of interest rates, stock return dynamics and credit risk. Duffee’s work on empirical asset pricing is some of the most widely cited in the world.
