The Department of Economics is pleased to announce three new exceptional faculty who will be joining the Department.   Professor Ying Chen, a theorist with a specialization in game theory, economics of information, and political economy, will join us in September, 2014, and will make occasional visits to the Department during the 2013-2014 academic year.   Professor Anton Korinek, a macroeconomist with a specialization in international finance and capital controls, will join us in January, 2014.  And Professor Yuya Takahashi, an applied industrial organization economist with a speciality in the estimation of dynamic oligopoly models, will also join us in January, 2014.   These additions to the faculty fill out our already strong groups in theory, macroeconomics, and applied micro, and will benefit students and faculty alike.
